You will find the best in outpatient care at The Center for Surgery. Our facility offers a relaxed, patient-focused environment, state-of-the-art equipment, convenient access, and an experienced staff to meet your needs.

Before Surgery

The Center for Sight doctor’s office staff will schedule your procedure. Once scheduled, a nurse from the Center for Surgery will call you the afternoon prior to your surgery, to review Pre-Operative information and confirm your arrival time.

If you need an estimate of your bill or more information on financial options for payment, please call 208-524-8351, prior to your surgery day.

If you develop a fever, rash, or cold the few days before your procedure, contact your doctor or our center at once, as your procedure may need to be rescheduled..

*Please DO NOT EAT, DRINK, or CHEW anything past midnight the night prior to your procedure, except for a sip of water with medication. This includes no gum, mints, candy, or chewing tobacco!

The Morning of Surgery

  • Your nurse may instruct for you to drink only clear fluids up to 2 hrs. prior to your arrival time, depending on your scheduled surgery start time.
  • Take your heart and/or blood pressure medications with a sip of water. Diabetic patients may be instructed to adjust their dose of insulin on the day of their procedure; follow the instructions given from our nurse.
  • You may brush your teeth and rinse your mouth with water, but do not swallow any of the water.
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing (a short-sleeved, button-front shirt is best). Leave all valuables and jewelry at home. If you wear glasses or contacts, bring a case to store them in. Please do not wear makeup, perfume, or dark –colored nail polish.
  • You MUST have a responsible driver with you on the day of the procedure. Your driver should remain in the facility while you are in surgery

The Registration Process

During the Registration Process you will be asked to verify your billing and insurance information, and to sign consent forms. You will need:

  • Current Driver’s License
  • Current Insurance ID card
  • Co-pay, Co-insurance, or deductible
    payment, if applicable. We take credit/
    debit, check, exact cash, and CareCredit.
  • A list of current medications including
    dosage and strength
    If the patient or insurance information cannot
    be verified, the surgery will need to be
    rescheduled.

Next, you will be taken to the Pre-Procedure area where a nurse will verify medical information, allergies, and your current medications. The nurse will prepare you for your procedure.


*An anesthesia provider will also meet with you to discuss your medical history and the type of anesthesia you will have.

After Surgery

*You can expect to spend approximately 20-30 minutes in the post-anesthesia care unit, depending upon the type of anesthesia you receive.

A nurse in this area will give you instructions for taking care of yourself at home. Should problems or questions arise while you are recovering at home, call 911 or your surgeon at the number provided in your discharge instructions.
